Featured on NCModernist.org's profile of Richard Harkrader, 209 Dacian is a perfect example of his passive solar design. He built around 40 such homes across Durham, with the goal of reducing energy costs, and creating beautiful living spaces. His designs nearly all featured the cedar clapboard siding, large south-facing windows, the brick floors and the exposed wood framing you see in the home today.
