When you enter this charming cabin from the covered front porch, you step into the cozy living room with a beautiful floor to ceiling stone fireplace with large flagstone mantle, original oak floors, vaulted ceilings with a skylight and dramatic views of 13,916-foot Meeker Peak. Off the living room is the bedroom and loft above. You proceed through the kitchen containing the restored 1890 cook stove, supplemented with other appliances, a refrigerator and microwave. A step down takes you to a family room with dining area overlooking Horse Creek, 11,000-foot Twin Sisters and seasonal bubbling brook. This room, all in natural pine paneling with vaulted ceiling, includes a sitting area and an early 1900s pot belly stove. Outdoors, along with access to Horse Creek there is a handsome fire pit, a picnic table and an old Truax ore cart. Fire mitigation on the property began in 2012 and has continued to date. There is a large storage shed with a loft and two small outbuildings. The property includes a small "triangle" of land across the road on the south, perfect for event overflow activities. A variety of wildlife pass through this property for great animal and bird watching.
